Rakim- Holy Are You
This song is fire on so many levels. For starters, any Hip-Hop track that samples the Electric Prunes gets an automatic pass. I love my Lord and savior Jesus Christ, but the fact that Rakim is the "God MC" and the song is called "Holy Are You" earns it even more props. Excuse my language-- but this is seriously some good shit! I love finding music like this. Thank u Blind I!7.16.2009

Q-Tip Interview w/ Loud.com
Let me just start off by saying that I absolutely love Q-Tip. He could shave off his left eyebrow and dye his hair green and I'd probably be like "that shit is doooope". So yeah, it's unconditional. Anyway, here's an interview he did with Peter Rosenberg for loud.com. If your a fan of Tip and Tribe like myself, enjoy. If not, just don't hit play. That's your loss. lol

New Mixtape: Melanie Fiona Meets The Illadelphonics
I'm glad that this gets to be my first mixtape post, because Melanie Fiona is a very talented up and coming female artist. Once her major label album drops, she will be a force to be reckoned with for the India Arie's and the Jill Scott's (unless they come with something completely different). Don't get me wrong, I love India and Jill, but they need to start taking more risks with their music if they want to make it in this new era of music. Until Melanie's The Bridge hits store in August, here's some good music to hold us over. Enjoy!7.10.2009

Hmmm....Fox News....No Surprise There!
I agree with their core point...but Bill O'Reilly's remarks in the beginning, ridiculous. You know, he didn't just sing and dance around his whole life. Have u ever heard of something called the Guiness Book of World Records??? And guess what...he's not in there for just singing and dancing around!(And that bitch needs to shut up!) Smh...

Shawn Chrystopher Talks Mixtapes, LRG, and A City With No Seasons
Shawn Chrystopher is a talented rapper out of LA. He has made a name for himself on the underground rap scene with his mixtapes IWG: I Wear Glasses and IWG2: I Told You So. His debut album, A City With No Seasons, is scheduled for release on iTunes August 8th, 2009. In the meantime, check out his Artist of the Week interview with Hip Hop Official.
Ahhh Givenchy...Magnifique!
I would so rock the bridal jumpsuit...fierce!
"I am your father"
The red train adds a nice touch ♥MR. HUDSON
In case you're not up on your music game, Mr. Hudson is an artist out of the UK signed to Kanye's G.O.O.D. Music label. His music has an electronic/hip-hop/rock vibe and is craaazy dope (my personal favorite is CoverGirl -- download the actual song which is 10x more dope w/ the drum beat attached to it). Anyway, here are two great new tracks from Sir Hudson (I like how that sounds) off his upcoming album Straight No Chasers (no info yet on when it's scheduled to hit stores). Check them out now!7.07.2009

Baby, Remember Our Name
On June 25th, 2009, the world lost an icon and a legend. In his all too brief life, Michael Joseph Jackson achieved the impossible and literally left his mark on the WORLD. He was an exceptional musician, dancer, writer, producer, philanthropist, mentor, father and friend. In fact, studying the work and style of Michael Jackson is how many well known artists and performers of today first got their start. Regardless of the negativity that haunted the last few years of his life, he accomplished so much throughout his 50 years on this earth and should be honored thusly. This tragic loss has turned the world upside down for the past week as members of the media uncover the latest scandals and developments surrounding his untimely death and controversial life. But amidst all of the hype, let us take time to reflect on the positive moments of his life and career, like his first television appearance on the Ed Sullivan with his brothers, the release of his solo debut "Off The Wall", his captivating performance as the scarecrow in the "The Wiz", and the day he introduced the world to the moonwalk during his live performance on the Motown 25 television special. While the king of pop will be missed, his legacy will live on forever. Today, a teary-eyed world will tune in as Michael's family and friends honor him in an elaborate memorial service. But tomorrow, let us remember the King of Pop, not just with our tears and words, but with our actions. Lift the needle off the Thriller album for a few minutes and take some time to think about what you can do to leave your own mark on the world. Creating this blog and is our first step, as well as pursuing the other ventures that we are planning for the months to come. By this time next year, we hope to be a major force in the world of Fashion, Art, Music, and Entertainment (FAME) in Baltimore City [next step-- THE WORLD]. These four elements have such a significant influence on our world and, when pursued with purpose and diligence, can bring about real change. 2009 has been a historical year in so many ways, including the election of our first African-American US president. The world is on the cusp of a new era of innovation, communication, and leadership. So if you haven't all ready, hop on board and ride the wave, because change is in our midst. We hope that you enjoy the blog and continue to follow and support us as we conquer our dreams. Peace and blessings to you all!
